I certainly wonder how GF 55/1.7 might render on Z body. I use 50/1.2s less often than in the past
probably in part because of 55/1.7. For sure I wont get the same dof on Z body but rendering of that lens is phenomenal. For landscape work, it might also be interesting as you use pretty much the best part of the lens and image circle.

As a user of both Z and GFX this is intriguing. I rented the GF 30mm t/s for a shoot last week and it was amazing on GFX, would love to have attached it to my Z7ii for a slightly longer tilt shift lens as I only have the 19mm pc-e for my Nikon. And if it's truly reliable for focus, it would also allow me to only carry one set of lenses. If anyone gets this let us know how it performs!

I'm more interested if all the weird clunky AF motor behavior between shots/playback disappears when adapted.

I can see a few uses for it. The TS lenses could be interesting to adapt. The larger image circle could allow for optimal IQ and low vignetting. If you are a Nikon user and want to add a GFX to the mix you can use your Z camera as a back up body and take less over all lenses.
With how good the megadap adapters are at this point, I definitely think of my Z8 as a backup E camera when packing my bag.

Ordered via Ebay, have been looking for a GF-NZ w/AF adaptor for the z8 & GF 500, 250, + 1.4x tc for fast wildlife, augmenting my existing z180-600 zoom with a few prime options. Delivery Oct. 8-14th

I personally find the rendering of the 55mm f17 far worse than that of the Nikon. Bokeh can be hideous with mid distance leaves. And god knows I had high hopes for this lens.
A friend of mines, very successful pro portrait photographer, Sony shooter and super sensitive to lens rendering, gave up on the GFX system because of the bokeh of the 55mm. He does many urban night shoots and the bokeh just wasn’t consistently acceptable compared to his GM glass.
And the AF.. no need to mention it.
On the other hand the 55mm f1.7 is very very sharp stopped down. One of the sharpest lenses I own. Just not what I was expecting from it. Wrong design priorities ImHO. I mean I don’t mind sharp but not at the cost of rendering.

No problem. We all have different preference and priority. I really like the look of 55/1.7. I got bored with gfx system for awhile, partly because of the clunky gfx100 andpartly because of z8/z9. 55/1.7 really hooked me back into gfx system.

GF-NZ adapter arrived, quick connection test tonight:
* Feels premium, lens and body attachments lock firmly in place with no play.
* Electronic communication is seamless (with the GF 63mm at least), so manual aperture ring setting appears in z8, and setting aperture ring to "C" command allows z8 wheel control to set, "A" auto works.
* Autofocus Single/Continuous work with focus-lock color confirmation, so far everything feels fine especially after having low expectations.
* Animal detect (dogs) works with focus-lock confirmation
* Box comes with "software update cap" to put in place during software updates, but this is straight-out-of-box test with success.
I'll try it with the GF 500mm & 1.4x TC sometime this week with AF tracking speed if it's not too rainy (unsure on weather sealing points so will treat it conservatively). Fingers crossed GF OIS pairs well with z8 IBIS.

Tested the Nikon z8 with Fuji gf 500mm & 1.4x tc this morning, fairly pleased with results:
* OIS and IBIS pair well, scene is steady in EVF and shots are sharp (to me), seamless connection
* AF-C Bird subject detect and tracking work well, seamless connection
* BIF tracking works well *once subject is locked* (see con below)
* gf 500 is much lighter than z180-600, handles well.
Cons:
* From completely out-of-focus, AF lock performance is slow or failed to lock-on to Bird-in-Flight toward me shot (crossing flight path lock seems better). Lens can't seem to catch up to fast birds flying directly toward lens. However, there were only two attempts. Probably more a lens limitation with gf 500 than adapter.
* z600 pf and z160-600 have faster AF performance, especially finding BIF subject from out-of-focus start

Just received the GF-NZ adapter today. Currently, I'm using the GFX 100 II as my primary camera with a 100S as backup. I also have a Z7 II that I pair with a 100-400mm lens for my attempts at wildlife photography. As mentioned above, the main reason I purchased this adapter was to consolidate my setup—I'm interested in using the Z7 II as my backup body instead of the 100S, allowing me to eliminate one camera from my kit.
I tested the adapter with two different lenses. First, the GF 80mm f/1.7—the autofocus was quite clunky with this lens on the adapter. You can visually see it stepping into focus. Then I tried the GF 45-100mm on the Nikon, and it worked flawlessly. My test involved having my wife walk toward me while using continuous autofocus and people recognition mode. The results were perfect—10 out of 10 photos were in sharp focus.
For comparison, I then tested the same 45-100mm lens on the GFX 100 II with comparable settings: face detection on and eye AF set to auto. With the GFX, only 10 out of 13 photos were sharp.
My conclusion is that performance of the adapter depends heavily on the lens being used.
As a side note, my adapter came with the firmware update cap as well. I searched for "Fotodiox GF-NZ firmware update" but couldn't find anything available yet. Hopefully, they'll implement an online firmware update system soon.

This is very cool. Glad it’s working out. I wonder if the focus performance has to do with the GF focus motor type? The 45-100 has a linear motor and the 80mm has a DC motor. Any chance you have the gf30, 45 or 50mm to test?

Just tested the few that I have if this is helpful (all focusing at widest aperture, on z8):
80mm - can confirm the pretty harsh stepping motor focus issues on this one, it's loud, very jerky, and hunts. This was by far the worst performer of the primes I have.
23mm - fast, slightly jerky motion, no hunting
30mm, 45mm, 63mm - acceptably fast-ish, slightly jerky motion, no hunting
250mm (with and without 1.4x tc) - fast-ish and smooth, lacking the jerky focusing sound and feeling, no hunting
500mm (with and without 1.4x tc) - fast and smooth, lacking the jerky focusing sound and feeling, no hunting
Overall, GFs aren't especially fast, but for me, I struggled between purchasing the GF 500mm or XF 500mm knowing I couldn't share them between GFX/X systems, then decided to trade the x-h2s for the z8 for wildlife with the hopes of adapting/sharing lenses between systems, so I'm pleased this is now possible.

thanks for this! sounds like they're all pretty acceptable except maybe the 55mm. If you're shooting moving waterfowl and getting results like this, I'm sure I'll be fine shooting static subjects.
