The time that I got pretty wet: Finishing my Kilauea photos I came across these photos of a blow hole right at the Kona airport. It was a lovely sunset with a slightly miscalculated tide. About two seconds after the first photo I got more than I bargained for.

I know you are experienced but people really need to be more careful around the shoreline. I've personally saved a handful of people over the years while surfing in front of my house. I've either had to give them my board to float on while we wait for the lifeguard or paddle them in on my board. People just don't understand the power of the ocean, and that there's both set waves and rogue waves that will clean you up. This horrible tragedy just happened not too far from you:
