Fotodiox Pronto adapter provides focus confirmation when used in Manual Focus mode. It can also provide AF and work as an extension tube. The disadvantages are a relatively high price and a weight of ~140g. The AF works well for lightweight lenses, or for short FL that do not require a lot of movement to achieve focus.

A not too user friendly but more precise solution is to get a Neewer adapter and a M to Sony E adapter. Use the firmware update cable to update the adapter's .txt file to the focal length you most often use. Then get LensTagger lightroom plugin (or if you are comfortable using terminal, get exiftool via homebrew for Mac users). That way, you can have the IBIS at the correct focal length when shooting. You will get all of the focus assist tool Nikon has to offer: rangefinder indicator, green box focus confirmation. You can also adjust the aperture to match your lens' aperture when shooting. You then update the lens name after you upload picture to lightroom. You will have all the lens information: lens name and shooting aperture. There is a f9 "reverse rings for focus", which you can adjust so your focus indicator can match your lens focus direction. There is also a13 "focus point selection speed", I will turn it to "high", so the eye focus point can show up more quickly (but less precise). These setups enhance my shooting experience with the ZF/Z8 greatly. I had firmware issue with my TTartisan adapter, so it won't work with my ZF and Z8. Since my current setup is vastly better, there is no need for me to hunt down another TTartisan adapter....Show more →

Do you know about any shops preferably from Europe that ship to Germany? Or shops that take care about tolls/import regulations to Germany/Europe?
Importing yourself often involves some hassle… (like driving to the other side of a big city to handle the papers for import duty)…

I was so keen on ordering even accepting the import hassle.
But not possible - yodobashi states sold out, Amazon Japan does not ship to Germany at all (and redirects to their German site where it is not available)…

Oh - as anyone tried to stack the adapters?
Like Leica M lens -> 7Artisans M-E 6 bit adapter -> Neewer Sony E to Nikon Z adapter
I use the TTartisan M to E adapted to Nikon with the Megadap - No issues. I tried it in the past with the techart with the megadap and AF didn't work and then I couldn't get the durn megadap off the Techart and had to use my Allstate insurance from BH for both.

I have serveral Leica M and LTM lenses that I would want to use on the Z - but preferably with focus confirmation -> so I need a chipped version.
I have the Neewer EZ on order (should arrive next week) but not other adapters for the Z yet (but all my vintage lenses are equipped with Sony E adapters).

Yesterday, I received the "Funmount MTZ Macro adapter". Provides focus confirmation, lens info and f-stop on the image's EXIF, can be used with several lenses, and weights 68g. It can't read a 6-bit code. Provides similar functionality to Fotodiox's Pronto adapter in MF mode, but weights about 100g less and costs $100 in Amazon. I prefer it to my TTA 6-bit adapter, whose 6-bit code reader is broken, because it provides close-focus capability.

Neat, I might look into this one. How's the machining? Do lenses fit in it nicely without wobble?

I find the adapter is good mechanically. It attaches firmly to the lens and the camera. The provided cable attaches magnetically to the adapter. It's not very robust, but does the job.

I don't have the Newer adapter. With the Funmount adapter I don't see a need to tweak the text file on the field. You choose one of the 12 lenses that you pre-define by selecting an f-stop between f/10 and f/36 on the camera, and cycling power.

Tangentially, it's WILD that Nikon has given us such a robust non-cpu setup and yet they don't use that data for dumb lenses on some adapters. There's absolutely no reason we need 6 bit adapters now, and moreover, they could easily give us focus confirmation on the Zf even with dumb lenses on dumb adapters if they'd just treat the non-cpu data as gospel. You can even "change" the aperture now that is sent to the EXIF, meaning you wouldn't even need an aperture feeler for old dumb lenses to get focus confirmation.
Very frustrating.
I really wish Nikon would enable this with future firmware updates. I've been wondering about the same thing. Maybe there's hope, as they've been surprisingly active in bringing new features to Zf in updates.
Lately I've been adapting my old Pentax lenses on my Zf and wouldn't mind having the focus confirmation with them. Although I can live without the green box, since it's so easy to focus with Zf. Especially as the subject detection still works and can quickly zoom to eyes etc. As I've been shooting so long with manual lenses, both on Fuji and Sony, the green focus confirmation is only a "nice to have" feature for me, not essential. Having the great EVF and focus peaking only in focus zoom mode have been the biggest game changers for me with the Zf (the latter option came with the 3.0 firmware).
Also, I really LOVE the non-CPU setup Zf has. Easy to designate lens names, focal lengths etc. and swap them from menu when changing lenses. Both for IBIS and having the exif-data in Lightroom.

I am using focus peeking while zooming now as well, but I wish they would do the only while shutter is half pressed way that Fuji does it. That would be even better in my opinion.

Fuji used to have a feature where if you half-pressed the shutter the focus peaking would turn off. My X-T3 did it. I was annoyed when I upgraded to the X-T5 and half-pressing the shutter didn't turn it off. I hope they bring that back (and give an option to swap the behavior if you prefer).

There was a used TTArtisan Leica M to NIKON Z M-Z bit offered for 75 Euros yesterday on Kleinanzeigen. Its meanwhile flagged as reserved.
It might be worth to check Kleinanzeigen from time to time.
