bove I mentioned an odd bug in Photoshop where the application menu doesn’t appear when I move the cursor to the top of the screen. Instead a narrow, wide blank area drops down where the menu would be expected. Clicking on it reveals teh menu, but it is awkward. The problem seems intermittent — while using the menus to save a series of files (all of the same type) it appears correct for some of them and incorrect for others.

To update this, the issue has also appeared in other non-Adobe apps.

It must be MacOS Tahoe problem maybe with old Monitor ?... Because I have my older iMac next to my new Studio and Instagram images look tack sharp.... as they did on my Mac Studio with the same old monitor before I upgraded to Tahoe

Have you tried a different browser to see if that makes a difference?

Giving this a go I think with 26.0.1 on MBP M1Max - hoping I see some improvement with performance on adobe or at the least no degradation.

I thought my Tahoe upgrade was working fine but today I discovered there is a bug with memory management. I logged in and was told all the apps I have loaded have run out of application memory and should be stopped with Force Quit. In fact, they only use about half the available memory, and that is with zero VM. Researching, I found that Apple has a problem with a memory management process buried deep in the OS which can "think" there is a problem when there is none. Workaround is to restart the computer regularly, rather than wake from sleep. Not directly related to any photo processing problems but worth knowing.

On 26.0.1 with the MBP M1 Max, so far no real issues after tweaking down the liquid glass junk.

I was occasionally having a problem like this with the previous version, especially with Adobe products. Over time (I keep the app running) its memory allocation would increase to many times its normal size and eventually, in a few cases, everything would grind to a halt. A restart was one solution, but also it was sometimes possible to gradually quit applications (esp. Photoshop) and restart them and continue.

I’m still having one bizarre problem in Tahoe where that I described earlier in this thread — the drop-down menu bar doesn’t display correctly until I click where it should display.

I installed the Tahoe Beta on my M2 MBP and all is good with Capture One and Photoshop but there's real issues with Mail and Messages lately. I launch the apps and it's unresponsive 75% of the time and forget blocking spam, the beachball spins for thirty seconds and I've given up and just delete them. I hope that the Public release fixes the issues but the look of the OS is nice. I've had no issues at all with the iOS on my iPhone and iPad Pro.

+1. Same. 26.0.1 on an MBP M4 Pro with Capture One 16.7, DxO Photolab 9, Office 365 for Mac , etc. No issues. Also tried as much as possible to get rid of the liquid glass look which is awful in my opinion. YMMV.

p.3 #11 · Anyone tried Apple macOS Tahoe ?

I came across a new Tahoe bug yesterday when updating one of my other laptops to 26.1.

The Wallpaper setting can lose the ability to select your own folder of pictures (as opposed to using one of the photo collections supplied by Apple). Since that is how I store and display my favourite photos this is a problem for me.

I spent several hours researching the forums trying to debug it, but apparently there is no solution if the workarounds are unsuccessful -- just have to wait for an eventual fix. It seems to be triggered in some way by higher levels of security requiring re-confirmed access permissions to the relevant folder, but just granting them does not make the problem go away.

Strangely, it is not a problem on my main desktop Mac, running the exact same release.

I did spend some time searching for a third-party wallpaper manager, since it seems to me it would be easy enough to write one but, again strangely, none exist that work in the same way. There are several that offer picture libraries via the cloud, for a subscription, but they do not allow use of your own collection on your own disk.
