I'm testing out an Olympus 300 f4 that I rented and am considering purchasing. Headed up to my favorite "close to home spot" and found more than I expected. Thanks for taking a look.

Very nice rendering Gary. I used to use a 300m f4 for my go to garden lens in another system and I miss it. Nice work.

Thanks Eric. I'm liking the IQ from the 300 better than my 100-400 but I often bump up against the MFD even though it's close on this lens. When I use the 100-400 I can simply back off the zoom just a tad when things get too close and it helps a great deal.

Fantastic set Gary ! I'm really loving your macro work.

Thanks Greg. I'm really enjoying this type of stuff. I blame Ronny Olsson for all the hours I've spent sitting next to a pond instead of being home doing yard work

Excellent work Gary. I don't think I have ever seen a dragonfly with prey ( # 3 ) Your images just keep getting better and better. Easy vote for me !

I watched a documentary the other day and they claimed that Dragonflies have a 95% success rate when hunting making them the top-rated predator. How anyone knows that is baffling
Thanks very much John
A couple of standouts for me here Gary, view from top inflight and handheld focus stack in camera are excellent. For me a some of these they are over sharpened and a bit edgy though the light may have also been a bit harsh?

Hey Karl. Good to hear from you. I always shoot at this spot in late afternoon but the sun is coming in directly over my shoulders so it can be a bit harsh. Interesting comment about the over sharpening. I actually dialed back my normal sharpening by at least 50% with this lens and some of them I haven't sharpened at all. This 300 is a super sharp lens. Appreciate your input.
