p.1 #1 · Has anyone used a Leica M mount lens on a Sony FX3?

I use my Leica M11 as my main camera now (though I do have a suite of Nikon DSLRs and lenses), and for filmmaking I'm using Sony FX6 and FX3's. I wanted to build out a fun FX3 rig, but was thinking of using my 50mm Summilux and 28mm Voigtlander Ultron. I'm not sure if it'll give me the same look/feel as I want from my M11, but maybe it'll get me closer? I just want to try. Anyone do this before and have any experience with this? I'll just grab a simple Urth adapter or something.

You can do a CST node in Resolve then apply the Leica LUT (on the Leica website) as well. The Lux is great. For the adapter though, I recommend this one cause it eliminates any jiggling and looks great:

If you don't need the locking mechanism you're better off with the Haoge or another helicoid focusing adapter, so you can do faster close ups without using a diopter.

Sure. Very few of them play well with Sony's thicker sensor stack, so you'll get more field curvature and, with the 28, some color crosstalk in the corners that'll be lighting dependent and not fun to correct. They can be good for static scenes, but if you need to pull focus or change the aperture while shooting, things can get painful. I'd say there's no reason not to try it, since you're only short the adapter, but I'm not sure building a kit around them is going to be terrifically satisfying. Just my opinion, of course.

Yeah that totally makes sense. I think I'll get an adapter to try it out.
