p.1 #1 · A7CR question (SOLVED) - does your battery door have "lithium" written on it?
I know this will seem silly, but I sold an A7CR to someone (locally, not on the boards) and they are a little concerned it's counterfeit because of all the pictures they see on the internet say Lithium on the battery door and this one does not. I am the second owner, so I did not buy it personally, but the person I did buy it from is a member in good standing and I remember he included the receipt so I am surmising that some point Sony started adding lithium to the door and it was probably due to some sort of regulatory requirement. If you have an A7CR that is one of the older ones if you wouldn't mind checking yours and letting me know what you see it would be much appreciated. I've offered to buy it back from them.

The door on mine says "InfoLithium Z" and also has "Open" and "Lock" labels. I also have "battery with triangle exclamation" behind the screen. It could be a batch thing.
p.1 #6 · A7CR question (SOLVED) - does your battery door have "lithium" written on it?
The press release versions had all the normal markings on launch date, so like mentioned most likely they replaced the door with a generic one. Common if they removed the battery door to use a dummy battery for studio or filming usage (or if they were just clumsy and broke it off).
Oddly even the replacements have the markings, so not sure where they got the pretty plain one from.

Here are 4 different Sony cameras that I can lay hands on right now. They all have battery doors with embossed wording. a6400, a7C II, a9 II, a7 IV.
I have a hard time imagining how counterfeiting an entire camera would be practical or possible. But I can't say I ever recall seeing a blank battery door or one with a decal that could fall off. There are some ebay and amazon sellers offering non-OEM battery doors for Sony cameras. The ones I see at least have "lock" embossed in the plastic by the latch even if they lack the "infolithium" logo. My guess is that is some generic non-OEM replacement part. But if the original owner denies any repairs that is odd.

The only thing that makes sense to me is that the door was replaced for some reason and that this is a replacemnt part from Sony, especially given that it fits and works perfectly. I can't easily imagine there being a non-Sony parts supplier who sells replacement doors, but then what all do I know about the camera parts business--nothing.
