I love this.... brings back a lot of memories, and is a true still life of our modern cities. Well done, in spite of the circumstances that brought it about.

Agree, a sad situation Bill. The causes of homelessness are often a combination of mental health issues and drug addiction. Many segments of our society choose to ignore it rather than take the time and money to combat it. I'm no expert, but I'd like to believe that tough love is an important element in forcing treatment on unwilling individuals.
This situation is not exclusively in the "cities". Here in the "sticks" we have also. Not on such a large scale but it is here. The shelters are full and the food lines are long. A sad scenario to be sure!
