I had a `1952 Hillman Bill. Bought it for $15 in highschool. Drove it on Maryland's sidewalks. Had a tomato can for a gas cap and the turn signal indicators were in the side door jams between the front and back seat. They flew out and up when the turn signal "stick" was activated.
It was the town "funny car"! Lots of laughs!!! Luckily the town I grew up in during this period of time had no police dept. Drove it in the Labor Day town parade.
