Incredible moment captured! Curious about your choice to go B&W. On my phone, it’s a little hard to distinguish three gators from one another.
Thanks for stopping by and commenting, Brewwithru,
I know what you mean. I am still debating between the color and the B&W versions. Unfortunately this photo was taken under some unfriendly, harsh lighting conditions, and I thought that a B&W conversion would work better due to the strong contrast of the light.
I am not completely happy with this image. What really bothers me is the gator in the back. Even though seems to add to the drama, its frontal view, coupled the fact that is OOF takes away from the scene to my eyes.. It feels distracting.
I have some shots of just the gator holding its pray in its mouth, before the third gator entered the scene, and they seem to have more impact than the OP, IMO.
Here is is the color version of the first photo and a second shot w/o the third gator. In B&W.
The light is very challenging, but it is an exciting thing to watch. I prefer the color version, maybe go back and rework it to your liking. I think this is one of those photos that would look better in print than on a monitor.

Thanks. You may be right, GM. I tried several different edits, but none really satisfied me. I just don't feel the image. I must be missing something. I am going to let it sit for a few days and try again from scratch.
Hi Socrate,
The color is full of drama, and you're able to really appreciate what is going on here. I am voting for Color.
Fantastic moment captured here...well done!
