I was doing an assignment at a private ranch above Eagle, Colorado a couple evenings ago and had a great vantage point of the recent Derby Fire in the Flat Tops. So I set up my camera to capture the scene from sunset until dark where the fire and flames really became visible. Here are a few of my favorite still images, if you would like to see the whole time lapse, check out my latest Instagram post (link to my Instagram is in my profile). It's even more interesting to see it in motion.

Thanks Jung, this was about an hour and a half time lapse from just before sunset until dark. Around 1063 frames captured at a 5 second interval.

Interesting time lapse of wildfire expansion (10 minute space?)
looks likely sunset - shadow becomes darker and darker in 10-15 minute period.
Thank you Joel! I appreciate your feedback. Yeah, that video kind of went viral, at least for my posting standards with almost 7,000 views so far. One critique I have is I wish I had not stopped the time lapse when I did and kept it going for another 20-30 minutes because to me the most interesting part is at the end. The sky sunset afterglow continued for a while and it would have been interesting to see the fire glowing into the evening. Luckily we are getting copious amounts of rain and it seems to have put the fire out.

Thats good. I found it fascinating. To really see what happens and the output of smoke is crazy!
