Point taken BUT "don't shoot the photographer"!! The point was the chef wanted people to eat, pay and get a free piece of pie if same main course was ordered. But they fudged on that an allowed any main course.
The 1st attempt the pie was still hot. I was trying to get the heat waves at a vert VERY slow shutter to show..problems the ice cream melted way too much. So a do over..

Great photo and reminder I know where I will be tomorrow.
Thanks Frank! Actually I knew nothing about this National holiday until my client called.
I live in "peach country" as it is! I am surrounded by huge peach and apple orchards in every direction.
Thanks and enjoy!

Update...My sister gave me one from Harry and David yesterday...Just ate it...Yummmmmmmy.
I always took the "back way" into Medford and CL when I was there...Turn left in Jacksonville and pass right through the pear, apple and cherry orchards of H&D.

OMG!! Peach pie and vanilla ice cream....I have tears in my eyes right now.
Really, it is my favorite type of pie!!
Dan...on our western slope, near Palisade, CO, there are many peach orchards and they are being harvested right now. Prices have gone up and the larger peaches are selling 'on this side of the hill' for $2/each! I hear that shortages related to manual labor (the ones who travel up from Mexico each year) are causing the price increases.
BTW, if you are a fan of Hawaiian Pizza, replace your pineapple with thinly sliced peaches. You can thank me later!

My local bakery made peach cobbler as the special of the day, but I am not allowed to have it until after I finish dinner. I got Baklava for my wife
Uh oh..1 of my most favorite of treats Frank!!!
While living in Baltimore, I frequented "Greektown" on Eastern Ave for a fine finish to a wonderful meal often!
Thanks!

YES prices have skyrocketed here also! $10 for a doz sweet corn C'mon?? Fruit? Outrageous!! But I will continue to pay for the enjoyment, But maybe not so often.
Yes migrant labor is a MUST on Maryland's Eastern Shore. Without them watermelons, sweet corn, cantalopes. tomatoes and other "picked" fruits would be lost.
In my area, mucho apple orchards, peaches and berries of every kind....
I have NO problem with this if done how it has been done here in Maryland as long as I can remember!!! They are ESSENTAL to our economy.
