Had the 24 f1.8 in shopping cart.
Gave payment info. Gave shipping info.
Was ready to hit last button, and got a message saying out of stock.

Keep checking back. Sometimes Canon will restock in an hour or two.

Ooh interesting, did not know the 10% upgrade discount stacks with existing discount!
It might only be 5% for that exact case, but there should still be a discount. I'm not certain but here's my vague guess what it was.
Camera Bodies:
The non sale new price has a 20% discount
The sale new price has a 10% discount?
The non sale refurbished has a 10% discount?
The sale refurbished has a 5% discount?
I think lenses have a different price structure as well, so the best I can say is that you're going to have to call and ask.
That's true, and while I have bought well over a dozen refurbished items from Canon, I have probably bought 3 times as much from the B/S Forum with no issues. There are some refurbished items that are a no brainer, like when I bought the RF 50 1.8 for $99 or the R100 with kit lens for $229. Those are the kind of deals that pop up once in a while. Not sure if we'll see deals like that again in the future, with the ongoing tariff situation.

I saw earlier that the old RP is listed for $519. It is eligible for the 10% Upgrade discount. With tax, it would $495.13 shipped. Very good price. I liked the one I previously had, but gave it to my son with a few RF lenses. I bought the R6 but hardly use it since my R100 gets the green light along with the RF 600 & 800 f/11's for moon and distant bird shots. I'm tempted to buy it as a travel camera and sell my R6. Decisions, decisions

I just got a quote from MPB for $1120 for my LN R6. No shipping on my part and that's $95 more then I was going to ask on the B/S forum. That's a no brainer
