Yes you can download to card, which means you have to remouve card and use a computer.
With the Creators App, you download directly to your phone, and your phone send it directly to the camera.
I think it's a more elegant way, but everyone has his own preferences.
I believe they meant "seems significantly improved to me."
I'm curious whether anyone discovers that this update causes any more 3rd party batteries to trigger the battery complaint popup on powerup, which previously were not flagged.
Always happy to see updates, but I thought we would see automatic subject detection based on updates to other cameras. Updated with creators app without any issues.
Installed here using the creators app from my cell, update process works fine, no issues. Time will tell if the update brought anything new to the table, but seems stable enough at first glance. Test shots went ok.

OK, so the jury is still out... either I'm out of practice, something is up with my settings (I doubt, because I have a pre-set User mode1 I use), or something is up with my 200-600mm (doubt it) or AI detection for birds and insects seems worse to me with my 200-600mm after the update.
It used to be able to track and pickup eyes and CAF them pretty well but it just didn't seem as sticky today, and it was plenty bright. That and it was fighting me at MFD (min focus distance) and I had to keep stepping back, even though I felt I was within my normal range. I can't put my finger on it with any science to back it up but even going into it thinking it was going to be better (placebo effect usually has us thinking its BETTER even if its not) I found myself thinking it was actually worse.
I'm going to torture test it again on my most reliable A/F lens next time, my Sony 700-200 2.8 GM II... if that gives me any trouble, then I'll know for sure that something is up because that thing is an A/F monster and can follow a spastic gnat on speed.
