I’m seriously considering this in the Sony mount for use with the A1 for sports. Tracking speed is what I’m looking for more than anything else. I’m sure it’s good for static subjects but my use would demand snappy responsive AF and excellent tracking.

Not ones moving very quickly. Seems decently responsive though. Better than using the old 200mm f/2G VR II Nikon lens or Canon EF 200mm f/2 Lens, but I think I still may prefer the color rendition from the Nikon VR II better, but it's close. Plus, I also own an A1 II, so being able to use the lens on multiple bodies is a plus for me.
