A few years ago, I spent a couple of nights in Kanab, Utah, to explore some of the popular spots nearby. My first evening there, I went to The Toadstools Hoodoos for sunset. It was incredible to see how the changing light transformed the colors of the hoodoos. I was fortunate to be the only photographer there, accompanied by my non-photographer friends. Here are a few images I captured during my short visit.

Love the area near Kanab and these are great pictures! Is this the same area where there are some white hoodoos?
Thanks Al, glad you enjoyed the set. Yes, this place does have 3 or 4 white hoodoos. I photographed them but they are same color at the mountain on the left so there was no contrast. I needed to photograph them from another angle then they would have come out nice. Something to remember for next visit.

Such a cool place. Great set!

Thanks Joel, this whole are is so photo rich. If you make a trip with few photographers, then it would be really fun. But my friends did give me my time to be alone. So many spots in that area! We did white pocket the following day and had permits to South Cayote buttes for another day. Kanab is awesome and I hope to get out there again.
Back to enjoy this set again, Parul. Such lovely colors at sunset and dusk.Your images have me wanting to go when I am in southern Utah for a couple months this fall. I’ve driven past this trailhead many times over the past 25 years but for some reason I have not hiked there yet.

You did very well here Parul, caught the great light and made some lovely compositions. Voted 👍🏼
Hi Ross,
Thanks so much! I really appreciate you saying that. I was happy with how they turned out, and your support means a lot.

I agree with Ross's comment above. Very nicely PP'd and you worked the light quite well. I will vote for your set. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you, PP is an area that I struggle with and trying to improve. I am glad you found the set to be worthy of your vote.

Hi Ross,
Thanks again for the kind words. I'm so glad my photos inspired you to consider that hike—it's definitely worth it, especially with those beautiful colors at sunset. I hope you get a chance to do it this fall! I can't wait for your images
Thanks for your feedback and encouragement.

That is really very beautiful light, coupled with great compositions...and of course an otherworldly landscape.
Thanks Cedric, my sunset visit definitely helped. I am glad that my composition worked in these images as I really struggle with that. This whole area is quite photogenic and not too crowded.

I like that dichotomy on the first one alot!
Thank you
Now that you mentioned that, I had to go back and look again. You are correct, the contrast is much nicer. Good eyes

At times difficult finding compositions in this type terrain, as likewise in the forest. Great job with the comps.
I hear you and I have definitely struggled with that. I am happy that composition in this set worked well. Thanks for your feedback.

Hola Pipe, gracias por tus comentarios. Sí, la luz del atardecer sobre la arenisca roja es muy especial y tuve la suerte de encontrar una luz preciosa.
