Yes, the Help Guide, not the User Manual
Also google A7CR user guides for youtube how-to's. Here's one
I really love his videos, but there isn't any settings guide in that video. That video did help me select the A7CII over the A7CR and I've several times looked at the lenses he suggests in that video for traveling light.
Thank you everyone for your input, and tips. Sorry for the original rant. I started unpacking at night and got frustrated. I hadn't downloaded the help PDF yet and when I watched Polis' video, I skipped over lots of parts trying to hurry and find the RAW setting, missing the SQ setting for stills that i needed to get the right menu for the RAW. I can't believe such an important setting is set by a tiny tab you can hardly see. I went back in today and watched a little more of Jared Polis and he did cover that AND that the flash had a plastic cover, which I had skipped over, hurrying to find RAW. I have not purchased a camera for years and I don't recall seeing the hot shoe ever having a plastic cover. The menu is not real friendly, since it has so many things and I just did not want to believe it would take time to get to know the camera.

Just unpacked New camera with no manual for general settings just to get started. Does anyone know of a short guide, with some of the main setups. I never had any problem with my A7R at all. I needed this for a trip and don't have time for a 578 pg Manual. Fine Art has a great one, which I almost used, then realized it was for the A7RIII
1. The 70-200 F4 Macro has something inside that slides Rt when lens is tipped to the Rt then slides left when tipped to the left. I was told this is the image stabilization, over the phone, but is it supposed to hit each end when it slides?.
2. RAW or JPEG don't seem to be in the menu under shooting. A guy Jared Polis has a YouTube showing how to set this, but his menu on the left is the same as mine, but not on the right side, which is where mine does not show RAW or JPG.
3. The hot shoe in the middle of the top of camera does not look like a hot shoe at all and I could not put a flash on it. I read it is used for sound, but I thought flash as well....Show more →
Jared Polis = Governor of Colorado
Jared Polin = youtuber
The governor offers more useful camera advice.

Thank you Steve for the correction. I don't know who he is. When you say he offers more useful camera advice, do you mean actual camera advice or like most politicians, In front of a camera advice.

I can't take credit for the comment. It was Jeff who made it. I just chimed in and laughed at his comment, because it really isn't about the governor. It is about the camera commentator Jared Polin also known as "Fro." I think Jeff was suggesting that Fro doesn't know cameras nearly as well as he claims he does and I agree and don't find his commentary very useful most of the time.
