I noticed it's been a little quiet around here lately, and realized that we hadn't had any wise words (or smart remarks) from Guy Mancuso @GMPhotography for an unusually long time. After getting no responses to PMs and emails, I did a bit of googling and learned that he had a serious stroke on June 4th. He has been hospitalized ever since.
UPDATE: I just got this current info from his daughter:
...My dad had a hemorrhagic stroke on June 4th. We have been in the hospital for the last 9 weeks trying to get him to a neuro rehab; we finally got him into Barrows on Thursday and then he had a complication and ended up back in the ICU.
Right now he is stable and they are monitoring him we are hoping within the week he will be able to go back to the Neuro Rehab and really start therapy and start to heal. He has full paralysis on the right side of his body still so we are hoping that he will regain feeling eventually.
Before this happened Thursday he was talking to us and very aware he was holding conversation and really trying to get himself out of the hospital bed. He’s ready to get outta there! I know how involved he was in those forums and I’m sure he misses socializing with everyone on there. Guy has a been such a generous member at FM for the past ten years (and at GetDPI before that). I've enjoyed every interaction with him, even when we didn't agree. He and I have bought and sold lots of gear to each other (sometimes the same gear more than once). I know I'm not alone in this.
Looks like he's got a tough road ahead.

I'm so sorry to hear about Guy's stroke and thanks for the update. I too noticed that I hadn't seen any posts from him lately and thought that was unusual. He's been such a generous and inspiring presence here, always willing to share his knowledge and experience. Wishing him strength and healing during this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.

The last update was almost a month ago. (I've reached out to his family to see if there's any news, but haven't gotten a response so far.)

Thanks for tracking this down and letting us know, Mike. I also had noticed that Guy had been missing in action. I was going to write Fred to see if he had heard anything. This is clearly a major medical event. Let's hope he makes a good recovery.

Oh no! I hope he's recovering and we hear from him again soon. He's definitely one of the all-time FM greats.
Ah, I am sorry to hear about Guy's situation. I wish him the best and sincerely hope that he would recover. Sooner or later we will have to go through that or similar situation and hearing about his situation makes me aware of that...
Very sorry to to hear this! Guy is a good guy, always helpful. I have done several deals with him, the first one being the famous Voigtlander 15mm "Choppy" he sold me. The old timer here may remember the story of "Choppy".
Guy is one of my favorite people on FM. He is often short tempered and argumentative, but is just as quick to reconcile, a sign of someone who is very passionate about what he believes, which I love.
