I use darktable to process my images. I noticed exif does not record lens make or model.can someone validate if your native z mount apo lanthar on a nikon records lens model and brand?

Yes, unfortunately it only shows the focal length and aperture in the exif data, but not the manufacturer/lens name.
Funnily enough, I have a reverse case here, where my Canon nFD 85mm f/1.2 L on a Novoflex dumb adapter is recognized as a Nikon Nikkor Z 85/1.2 S from DXO Elite 6, for whatever reason DXO is making a mistake here.
However, this is very nice in that I can then deactivate the incorrect profile corrections for the Z 85/1.2 S, but still use the very powerful “Lens Softness Compensation” tool with my Canon 85/1.2 L.
This is normally only available for native lenses and is based on the respective DXO lens profiles.
