p.1 #1 · Macro 180mm or greater with Image Stabilization.
I have developed hand tremors over the past 5 years. Due to my father passing from Parkinsons. It is genetic.
I am looking for a high IQ macro IS lens to adapt to Canon EF mount. PLEASE 180mm and greater. I have the 180mmMacro 100mm IS Macro, EF-65MPE, and the EF-S60mm Macro, while fine lenses, Image Stablization or OEM term, is my prime concern.
Suggestions?

Dan,
I shoot a weird concoction on Nikon (for long working distance) that equals 480mm. D7200 + 200mm ais + modified TC-16A (gives me partial AF) - but no stabilizing. I also own an EF 300mm f4 IS and a choice of crop frame, or full frame bodies - and if needing to get closer I could screw on a Canon 77mm 500D Close-up Lens (might work better with an IS zoom). I'll go try a few and get back to you.

Dan, The 500D has an incredible shallow DOF, but can focus the EF 300mm f4 IS at about 18 inches instead of 4.9 feet. I tried a 12mm auto extension tube, and that dropped the 4.9 feet to a bit over 3 feet, but better DOF. Maybe a 20mm, or 36mm auto extension tube would do the trick. I think the key is an IS lens, and find a tube that gives you a good working distance and DOF.

Heh James, if it works for you that is great! I am very surprised that there is no long focal length "IS" macro besides the Canon 100mm Macro IS.
MY Fuji GFX100sii has IBIS and the lenses have IS and they work great for my tremors! But for macro work I like a creamy dreamy bokeh for many subjects.
Also the Fringer EF-GF adapter handles my tremors extremely well on the Canon 180mm.
Nikon's 200mm Macro sounds wonderful but no "IS".
Was just "askin' members if I had missed something.
Thanks!

I have extension tubes Jim that I have NOT used in 15 years or more. Just collecting dust.
I think at this point I will stick with the Fringer EF-GFX adapter which allows for IBIS that is great. But still thinking!
I was at a WPPI convention and the Canon Rep was telling everyone that Canon was coming out with a new Macro with "IS" and between the 180mm-200mm f.l. and f2.8.
That was not true!

These are really beautiful Jim! The bokeh is super!
I generally don't get that close to a macro subject...maybe 8-12" so this would work...
As I stated above, the FujiGFX100sii IBIS solves the problem with a Canon EF 180 f3.5 lens but is even better when the lens has "IS, OS..whatever the manufacturers term for "stabilization" is.
Thanks!
