p.4 #3 · What would most improve your phiotography?
I find it interesting that, at a time when the average photographer takes approximately 1 million more pictures than in the analog era, 70% are convinced that taking more photos will advance their photography. Frankly, I have the exact opposite opinion.
I would also have added the item "waste less time researching, testing, buying, and selling photographic equipment" to the survey.

I was going to follow up my vote with this post, but then got distracted.
Taking more photos, *with intention*.
The times that resulted in at least one photo I liked were those in which I was fully engaged. Really concentrating and focused in the moment. Working on a specific project or goal helps. Simply walking around taking casual snaps here and there doesn’t really do it for me, and yet it’s too often a trap that I allow myself to fall into. There’s little reward in being lazy.

Not so sure I agree with your first point. One of the factors holding back the development of photographic skill was the long lead time between exposing an image and being able to see and learn from it. While it isn’t enough to just push the shutter button more, digital has enhanced our ability to learn from this feedback loop.
I strongly agree with your second point. I know, irony, right? Here we all are, participating in a forum that largely focuses on gear and technical stuff, saying that this isn’t the most important thing. Gear is not unimportant, obviously, but shifting the balance from focusing on what thing is best and which one should I buy to a focus on becoming visually literate can make a huge difference.
