Annual high wheel race in Frederick, Md. Frederick is noted for its "Clustered Spires" from the church steeples that dot the downtown area. Brutally hot and humid!
Weee-doggies!!!!
Dan
Yes they do! Sweat was pouring off my bald head under my safari hat, my sight was somewhat impaired due to that...I wera glasses and had "fit overs sunglasses"...my lenses(glasses were fogging up. The event photographer was right next to me and we both were having "issues" panning. It was fun and very tiring for this olde man.
The main problem was most of the cyclists were bunched together so we waited until the last few cyclists flew by for isolation.
Thanks!

Dan, excellent panning shots..... I need to get that technique down. Pass out the secret sauce
Parul no secret sauce here but the weather! It was B-R-U-T-A-L!!!!!!!!! 105F heat index and 117F off the road surface.
The mirages off the road encompassing the cyclists would have made a wonderful image but it was just way to hot/humid to catch a good clear shot plus they were moving way too fast..... I did not have a monopod for a long exposure.
Thanks!

These are great!
Did you use an ND filter to get the shutter speed down?
Yes..A Sing-Ray variable one! The sun was extremely bright as it was around 11-12pm.
I have very bad hand tremors if I hold a camera with 70-200f2.8-IS-II for too long. You can see the shake...I called it "in motion"...
Thanks!
Dan
I will add these were taken with a Canon 5DSr, so no IBIS. The lens does have IS.

Wonderful nostalga moments captured, enjoyed the panning motion captures. Good work Dan
It was very hot, extremely humid and the sun was like a "heat gun" on my side of the street Joe!
I had to move around to keep from literally passing out from heat exhaustion! At one point, the event's official photographer allowed me to rest my 70-200mmf2.8 on his shoulder to keep my hand tremors from wrecking any image and paning the oncoming cyclists!
It was fun!
Thanks!
