Today I achieved 14743 regular RAW images on an R5 II with one LP-E6P charge. Lens was 100-500, ES, 30FPS, Delkins Black CFe cards. Temperature 10 degrees C. Minimal chirping.
It's practically unbelievable but I have a photo, though am not able to post. AF with 1.0.3 seems fine to me for tracking.
That's insane! Are you sure you didn't swap out a battery or two in a heated moment? Something doesn't seem right.
So are you suggesting they made some power management improvements with this FW release they didn't report in the release notes?
The battery counter matches the downloads exactly, 778GB.
I doubt images per battery is related to the FW, but never got that many previously. Perhaps I should have posted in the other thread. I was concerned and brought an R5 as the 3rd or 4th body instead of the R7. I only used the body with FW 1.0.3 with 2 lenses, 100-500 and EF 500/4 IS II, the latter mostly with 1.4x III.
Picked up an e-bay battery for 43 dollars, was a little skeptical but thought I would chance it. Straight from Canon looks like, but for CPC sales only. Shot all day on it while paddling. Canon will put a stop to that pretty fast. But, still a few left.
