p.1 #1 · This morning from the kayak OM-1 Olly 100-400

First time on the water in over a month due to a bad knee. My Z system is officially gone as of this morning. Kudos to MPB for adjusting their quote in my favor !! Now I'm waiting on my OM-1 MK ll and OM 150-600 to arrive. I'm keeping my OM-1 and 100-400 as my Dragonfly/Butterfly setup.

Yeah, I might Everything I read about the 150-600 claims it's an improvement in a lot of ways over the 100-400. I'm pretty much counting on that. I shot with the Sigma 150-600 S for a long time starting with my D500 and I thought that was a great lens so we'll see. I know they're different lenses but not really It's going to be nice just concentrating on one system again.

The improvements seem fairly modest but I think there's enough there to justify the upgrade. The buffer increase is one of the things I found useful. We'll see how it goes

Great images! Now I want to drag out my kayak!

I have the 100-400 V1 and the 150-600 on a OM1 MKII You will not be disappointed with the 100-600

Gary, I think you'll be surprised. The subject detection AF works in a very nice improvement to me. Another thing I really like on the Mkll is the Variable GND. For landscapes especially, it is a very nice feature and works really well.
Here's a shot I did at the coast last September using the GND -- it makes life simpler!

Thanks ! My new gear arrives this morning. I was shooting Dragonflies at a spot about a half hour from my house yesterday that I've only been to once before. As I looked across the lagoon I spotted a very low and very active Osprey nest. I had no idea it was there ! It's only accessible by kayak so as soon as my stuff gets here I'm heading out. Really excited to try out that 150-600.

Very nice Greg ! I don't do a lot of landscapes but I have used that feature before on waterfalls. Im hoping to test out the new equipment on Osprey this afternoon. Very excited !
