p.1 #1 · A Challenging Yet Beautiful Hike in Bryce Canyon
Last March, I visited Bryce Canyon National Park, where I was greeted by intensely cold weather and a snowstorm in the forecast. Snow blanketed everything, making the trails difficult to navigate without proper snow cleats. The paths were also muddy, and the melting snow during the day added to the challenge underfoot. Despite these conditions, I decided one morning to hike down the trail towards Thor's Hammer. I couldn't go all the way due to increasingly slippery conditions, but I did manage to capture a few images during my trek into the canyon. Unfortunately, I never got to experience the morning sunlight glow in the canyon during my stay; one morning looked promising for a bit, but thick cloud cover ultimately obscured the sun.
Thanks for viewing and welcome all CC

A brief moment of glow as I was heading down the trail

Nice shots and good work navigating the trails without traction. Micro spikes are an essential part of my winter/spring hiking gear here in the NW. When we were in Bryce a couple springs ago they were essential for snowy hikes where the packed trails become extremely slippery when icy.

This is a very nice set, I liked that you refrained from overdoing the colors. I like how you framed the Thor's hammer above the canyon rim with beautiful sky in #1. The PP is very nice as it's so easy to get carried away based on what you see on IG. I have done this trail, I believe it's sunrise point and there were tons of people. Great set, thanks for sharing.

Thanks Jim, you are absolutely correct...micro spikes are a must....the hike was super icy and slippery after freezing night temps. In morning it did look like a promising sunrise but was a bust real quick.

Thanks, the PP is very minimal and tried to keep it like I saw it. I never go on IG so don't know what people post on it.

Thanks John, they all came out nice but it's amazing see what a little direct light can do to colors as seen in last image.

Sorry you didn't get the experience you were hoping for! But good to hear you were safe in tricky conditions. I'd say the images you came back here with were a good tradeoff though. 2 and 6 in particular. Still got some really nice glow there!

Thanks, it was my first time in Bryce and couldn't believe how cold it was
I should have been better prepared for hike with some micro spikes, it was really hard to hike without it. Glad I was able to get few good shots and the last one with a bit of glow.
