Curious to know if anyone here is still using a DSLR. I currently have several mirrorless bodies (also some older lenses with adapters to fit on my mirrorless bodies).
While doing some Spring cleaning, I came across 4 Nikon AF primes I had stored away (24mm f2.8 AF-D, 35mm f2.0 AF-D, 50mm f1.8 AF-D, and 180mm AF-ED). I remember keeping these lenses because they were super sharp, and they weren't worth much when I sold all of my Nikon DSLR equipment.
I've been debating the idea of getting a D7500 just so I can use these older lenses. Granted, I know they are full frame lenses and the D7500 has an APS-C sensor, but I like the idea that the D7500 is still sold new and relatively inexpensive. Not a fan of buying used camera bodies, so the D7500 is the only option that fits the bill for my needs at this time (will meyer and AF with my older AF-D lenses).
This would not be my primary camera, as I have several other mirrorless full frame cameras and lenses at this time (brands other than Nikon). This camera would just be for having a "ready-to-reach" camera outfit in my car in case I run up on something picture worthy.

I'm using a Nikon DF a lot with my Ai-S mf lenes
I know you like to buy used - but with those lenses you have I would go after a used FF
D800/D810 or D750 are still great cameras and can be bought at reasonable prices
I still have a D780 and D600 along with 105 mm F 2 DC , 180 mm 2.8 AF , and 300mm 2.8 AF that would only be able to be manually focused on my Z6III and the resale value is low enough that I'm still keeping them.
Z6III is main camera but D600 is occasionally used if I'm worried about theft and D780 is the backup.

I'm still using my Canon 5DsR. It works really well for the purposes that I use it for. (If I were buying a new Canon camera today, I would get something else.)

I never liked the D7500. It was step backwards from the D7200, especially the lower IQ and only one card slot. I'd get an FX body if you want to use those traditional F mount lenses. Buy from a store with a good return and warranty policy. You may find that some of those lenses are not so great compared to the modern standards.
I was field testing the 61MP a7rIV in late 2019, but 2020 pandemonicum ruined any real opportunities. A major problem is that Canon only cares about video resolution and Nikon only gets what Sony sells to them. The AA filter and limited sensor quality of the 45MP Canons is not conducive to highest system resolution.

Those are nice lenses. If you buy from KEH or MPB the experience is very similar to buying a new camera. You could get a D750 for about the same price as the D7500 (at least here in Europe).
I am using a D850, mostly for AiS MF and AF-D screw drive lenses, as I just like the ergonomics better than the mirrorless bodies (Z8/Z9) with the FTZII for these lenses. Logic would dictate that the mirrorless bodies perform better, but the ergonomics thing wins for me, I actually re-purchased the D850 after the Z9 and Z8 for this reason.
The F6 is better still in the above situations, buit is a film body. Still shooting it though. MF on the F6 is really awesome - I wish the D850 had the same focusing screens available...
I have mirrorless bodies but I somehow can't bring myself to sell my D850. I sold this body a while ago and re-purchased after buying mirrorless There is something about the D850 (can't describe) that makes me want to keep it forever
I shoot two full frame DSLR (EOS 5DS, 6D) and two mirrorless APS-C (EOS M5, M6). I also have an EOS SL2 (APS-C DSLR) that's in the For Sale bin, but it got used last weekend, too.
I'll go to full-frame mirrorless, when Canon releases the R5S + RF 800/11 kit.
I currently own 4 Z-mount and 7 F-mount lenses. 6 over 11 lenses are MF.
I use a D780 because I prefer it to my Z6 for tripod work (landscapes and close-ups). Moreover, in live-view the D780 works exactly like a MILC.
For travel and walk-about, I prefer the Z6, a lighter body with IBIS.
D3200 + 18-55 might be a really nice camera to keep handy in the car, some of the used places have a warranty, if that is the concern. The D3200 does well on Bill Claff's DR testing, and presumably has Nikon look and colors, so I dont see the latest most expensive 24-26 mp aps beating it by much, in terms of iq.
It meters but no af on AF-D, not sure if you'd have focus confirmation on the 180. D7200 and D500 look nice, D750 really cheap imo, of course youd have to buy used most likely unless you can find NOS.
I still have all my DSLR’s
(Just gave a work colleague SL2 and 4 lenses. He’s over the moon with it)
I switch between Canon and Pentax
Currently using Pentax (K3 & K5iis)
I’ve enjoyed playing with mirrorless but I enjoy DSLR’s more.
I tend to treat mirrorless like I treat my phone, but with DSLR’s I’m far more methodical in my picture taking which ultimately gives better results for me.
