Went on a trip to Santa Barbara with the family and only took the X Half. Still have mixed feelings. I’m not sure if I want to keep this yet. In good lighting the image quality is quite good although highlights blowout easily. In poor light, the noise reduction is too aggressive and images look like they came out of a web cam. Hopefully Fuji will address this in a future update.

They need to fix that. If the camera is going to replace film shooting they need low light to feel the same way. That said, those photos have plenty of resolution and texture in daylight!
The photos are not unlike what I get out of my Yashi T4, and if treated the same way, I can see how it's a fun camera to shoot. The daylight photos look good for what they are.

Pics look good. How long will you be using it before you send it back for a refund?
I handled one in the store today and was surprised as to how nice and solid it felt in hand, especially given how tiny it is.
The deal killer for me is that it does not have a hot shoe - that thing is a cold shoe for accessories - so you cannot recreate those fun film flash pics.
No idea why Fuji made it without the ability to use flash. It has an led light but that is not the same thing.

Excellent pics in the flickr album! Love the neon sign one.
Did you use any of the film sims?
They are Classic Chrome but edited in LR. Exposure and WB adjustments. Extra saturation and also added negative clarity and small grain.
I sent it back this past week. It's a fun camera. Very small and light. Build quality is pretty good, better than I expected. It is plastic but feels well made IMO. Battery life is excellent. The deal breaker for me was, I didn't like the jpgs straight out of the camera. WB is always off and the noise reduction and sharpening make the photos look similar to entry level point and shoots. Fuji can fix this with a firmware update by tuning the jpg processing, adding settings for sharpening and NR, or enabling raw. I may end up buying it again as it is a fun camera to use.

When you consider the sensor size, isn’t this essentially an entry level p&s but at a very high price?
I returned mine. In good light you can make something happen. Otherwise it’s trash. Feels like a toy. The hate is real. It’s a super cool concept but feels cheap and performance is lacking and it’s the same price as a XM5 which is insane.

It has an 1" sensor so it should be capable of high quality output but the noise reduction is too aggressive. By ISO 800, all detail is lost. The only exception is using Acros film simulation. That sim still looks good at high ISO.
