How are you guys doing? I hope doing very well : )!!!
A friend and I bought close focus adapters for
Leica-M-Mount lenses to both Fuji-X and Sony-E
mount cameras.
They are on their way from the dealer.
A few hours after our online purchase, we got a call
from a friend, telling us that a friend of his was selling
a Sony 50mm. f/2.8 Macro lens.
Is that something that should catch our attention?
We mean, the lens is in good condition and well priced.
However, we have on the mail those adapters coming
and we want to start shooting food with them, among
other things that need close focusing.
The adapters cost around $120usd with no autofocus.
We may keep the adapters, disregarding if we buy or
not this Sony macro lens.
Is buying such a lens worth it, generally speaking?
Would you please be so kind to tell us what you may
have liked or not about this lens? For example: Is it
very sharp?
We own no AF lenses with the Sony camera we use.
Perhaps this lens could be considered almost like 'a
godsend'.
It would be our first and only AF lens. That's why we
are giving it such special consideration at the moment,
and considering if it would be worth it by reading your
kind comments and experiences with it
Thank you, kind regards,
Arurso : )!!!
P.S. Please tell me if this post is good here. I thought
on posting it on the Sony forum or on the alternative
lenses group. Thank you again : )!!!
I assume the "close-focus adapters" to be supplementary lenses. I have acheived some very good resuls with Marumi +5 achromat and Raynox MSN-200 on various prime lenes.
Now I use more-specialist macro lenses. On m4/3 I use a 4/3 Olympus 50mm f2 macro (adapted) with matched x2 TC*, when required to give 1:1
*TCs are an alternative to supplementaries and maintain working distance
My FF goto macro lens is the Kiron 105mm, which gives 1:1
Like you, I have mainly manula focus lense, the exceptions being the 50mm (but used o=in MF) and the Lumix/Leica 100-400, also ofer used in MF.
I can't comment on the lens your are interested in but I wanted to give you some flavour of what I use.
