Got mine a week ago - love it! Great stuff to read upon - for example one pager article explaining where many of the Leica lens names derive from!
Leica had to come up with names for their lenses because Holga had patented the name “Optical Lens”

Maybe the cheapest Leica product I've ever bought....
I actually bought a genuine Leica cord neckstrap for my Ultravid 10x20 binoculars from Leica customer service in NJ.
And it was under $20!
I almost passed out in shock when they quoted me the price!

Don't get me started with the neckstrap thing and Leica cameras....for the price of their cameras, their strap should be much better quality. A whole third party industry has built up on this making better Leica camera straps - no wonder. But they charge a fortune most of the time.....fortunately I am not a big fan of leather straps and prefer more simple but as rigid fiber-based ones which are much more affordable (since less in demand I guess).

It's one of Leica's marketing strengths. Pimp my Leica is a thing. Not many people pimp their Canons. Leica stores sell Cooph Straps and grips and brass lens hoods and......

I don't know about you but I love the stock leather straps that came with my M 10s.

Yeah I much prefer them to the nylon ones w rubber pads that they used to ship. The leather ones allow you to slide the camera into position seamlessly, while the nylon/rubber ones just snag.
They also look and feel far more appropriate.

really? I never bought anything that of sort. It's always coming free with some other purchases.
last time I bought a lens, I got a free leica bear.
I never thought people would buy this kind of things.
Well, I have gotten a couple of books free from my favorite Leica dealer, but LOTS of people buy books about Leicas and photography. I have a Leica Red Book that's now worth hundreds of dollars - some Leica books actually appreciate over time.
Never gotten a bear - that would be cool. I'll harass my dealer since I've bought many thousands of dollars worth of gear from him.

I wasn't aware of this since I only experienced M7 and M 240 based cameras which came with the thin nylon/rubber straps. Looks like Leica actually made a change starting with M10 I haven't been aware of until now.

My M3 still has tge nice simple leather strap on it that came with it in '68, it's lasted well, although the 'rubber' pad broke a good few years ago. To be fair the camera hasn't seen heavy use for the last 10 years.

You mean the one with all the gear and it has the MTF harts of all the lenses etc? If so my Leica store gifted me one (the most current version) a month ago.
