Lovely images in the beginning. The last few seems to show the animals reacting to your presence. I'm not sure if you were disturbing them or they were just taking note of your being there.

Hi Morris,
Actually the only animals in these images that did notice me were the spotted hyena. For the color photo I was stopped on the side on the road looking at a map when I heard some noise, and looked down the embankment and saw her looking right at me. She was maybe 20 yards away at most. For the B&W one I was driving down the road and stop because she was walking straight down the road towards me - I stopped and she walked right by me looking at me.
The leopard straight on, lion cub, etc. all were at a distance of greater than 70 yards. In fact the B&W of the leopard was across a river and high up and was totally backlit - it clearly has the impression he was staring at me but honestly at that distance it was more just pure luck and a lot of shots taken.

It sounds like the hyena is not bothered by humans. You did very well at those long distances

Hyena really aren't. In fact it's pretty common for their cubs and adolescents to come up to the car and sniff and look at you before running back to their den. Then after a bit of time they will come back and do it again and again until they get bored.
