I found the little green heron perched on the side of a stream at the Marine Nature Study Area in Oceanside, NY. These very smart little birds are one of my faverate and I spent a bunch of time photographing it. That ended when a pair of much larger yellow-crowned night herons chased it off the perch to use it them selves.
Comments and suggestions welcome,
Morris

These are wonderful, Morris! Love the variety of looks, and #5 is a very unique image -- if I had taken that shot, I can guarantee those feathers would be right in front of his eye!
Nice work, as always!
Such great isolation and a wonderful BG Morris A few are a bit tight for me but simply beautiful work and YGMV on the set. Super crisp lovely parting shot at the end!
