I spotted the killdeer walking in a mudflat near one of the trails at the Marine Nature Study Area in Oceanside, NY. I got down low and took this photo, a safety shot before mounting my 1.4x TC. It was in the air before I got a shot with the TC on so I had to crop the safety shot. I watched it land at a distant pond and I took a number of photos of it there and then it took off tiny in the frame. Fortunately I was able to get some quality captures and this one cropped well. I never knew how attractive they are in the air.
Comments and suggestions welcome,
Morris
