Song of the Queen.
The solstice draws near. On a luminous night at this time last year, the low sun lingers, pouring molten light over Herðubreið’s flanks. The Queen of the Icelandic Mountains, Herðubreið, reigns resplendent in this symphonic Icelandic light.
These frames, and the short video below, are from a helicopter excursion over Askja and Herðubreið in the stillness of midnight.
That third photo is absolutely magical! Wow. To me, it's even better for being taken from a helicopter rather than from a drone - I still have an attachment for images that I could see with my own eyes. Bravo!

Cedric: Yes, a very different 'feeling,' photographing from a helicopter and acquiring a comparable image from a drone. Besides, more often than not, a helicopter can go to places and manoeuvre in a way that drones can't (at least the prosumer drones).
Rajan absolutely stunning imaging and what light, just incredible. I had to go watch the image on my TV and it's just incredible. Especially the last image "Her Majesty, The Queen: Herðubreið" An easy vote for me.
