Last month I emailed Leica NJ asking how long it would take for them to replace the leather on my M6. No CLA, just a leather swap and they said it would take 20-21 weeks.

Just share my timeline of service experience with Leica NJ this year:
Apr 11: visit Leica store Boston, send in my M11M for check up/sensor cleaning and re-install missing eyepiece protection
Apr 15: get email of confirmation of receipt
Apr 17: get email of repair cost estimation ($0), reply authorize all listed service
Apr 21: get estimated date of completion is 7-8 weeks.
Jun 6: get email updated my service is complete
Jun 11: receive my camera from UPS
Just sent in my M11M in this week….shutter curtains not staying open in A modes. Warranty expired in May. I tried to push and have them cover it still since I’m just weeks out, they wouldn’t promise anything and said to send in anyways and once they look things over I should plead my case to have it covered
Leica Germany helped me when I bought a pre-owned Leica S2 from a "reputed" Leica dealer in Florida. Sent it to Leica NJ for a general check and they claimed internal damage likely due to dropping on a hard surface asking for $3,300 to repair. After back and forth with Leica Germany they agreed to do it as goodwill.
It is a hit or miss.

So they got the repair done in record time ~3-4 weeks, but the camera&lens have been held up almost 2 weeks on some IT issue that they are unable to charge for repairs & ship back ..
