I'm looking to mount a lens with Canon EF mount to my Sony A1 II. Such a wide range of adapters available in an equally wide price range. My lens is a Sigma 14mm f1.8 to be used for night sky. I can use some recommendations, thanks.

That should be a lens that Sigma officially supports on their MC-11 adapter. The third-party alternatives are quite incomplete adaptions at best.

I can't speak for your exact body, but I use the 7Artisans adapter with an A7C and native Canon EF lenses. I find it works well enough. If you get it, make sure you install the latest firmware. For example, the original firmware disabled IBIS with the 50 1.8 STM. I had to hunt down the latest firmware (via Reddit) and that fixed the bug. I've only tried the adapter with four lenses and overall it worked well enough even in AFC with eye detect. It's definitely not as snappy as native lenses, but I suspect a lot of that is due to slow motors in my old lenses. Lens data transferred properly to LrC and I was able to manually select lens corrections in LrC. Overall I'm happy with the adapter considering the price. I would stick to Sigma's adapter for Sigma lenses as I imagine it's better.

I trust the Sigma MC-11 above all the others. I have a Metabones mIV that I can use if I want a tripod mount on the adapter, but the Sigma's significantly lighter and tends to be a bit better with AF.

I too have had a great experience with using the Sigma MC-11.

Another vote for the Sigma MC-11. I am generally anti-adapter because they usually have so many caveats. But every officially supported Sigma lens I have used with the MC-11 has worked perfectly. Your 14mm is on the "official" list.
The only other mount adapter I've ever had 100% success with is Canon's EF-EOS R with Canon branded lenses on RF-mount cameras. So there seems to be some magical inside information available to the manufacturers

I have used the MC-11 and it is easy to recommend. I have found adapted lenses don't focus as reliably as native, not a huge surprize. For your application, it sounds fine. I wonder if you even need a fancy adapter that passes focus info back and forth if you will mainly be using the lens as a manual lens.

Functionally the Sigma MC-11 is usually the best.
It has also found to be consistently accurately made.
A common issue with some others which are not.
Wide angle lenses particularly suffer from poorly made adapters.

I used the Metabones adapters for a few years. They work fine, even if you don't plan to use the AF features of the adapter. I also have a couple K&F Concept adapters, including an EF-to-E adapter, and they work well too.
One option worth considering is the Meike EF-to-E drop-in lens adapter. If you have a Ha-modified camera and a filter like the IDAS GNB drop-in filter, you can boost the nebulosity of night sky targets, especially with a wide angle lens like your 14mm. I did this with my old A9. If you want to use an Ha-modifed camera during the daytime with a normal white balance, use an IR cut filter. Spencers is a good vendor for the Ha conversion and IR cut filter.

The mc-11 is not a 'Canon EF' to Sony FE adaptor. It is designed for Sigma lenses with the EF Canon mount and not for Canon made lenses. I use it with some Canon lenses and found it to work poorly, but it's pretty much glued to my Canon tse17 which is a manual focus lens.
The metabones v is a Canon EF to Sony FE adaptor and seems to work quite well. I use one with a few Canon lenses that I have but it doesn't play nicely with all Canon lenses either (maybe I'm using the inappropriate mode on the adaptor). I would recommend this for Canon lenses and the mc11 for Sigma lenses with a Canon mount.

Great advice everyone. Looks like the MC-11 is the choice for my 14mm 1.8 on my A1 II. I do have a few MF Zeiss EF mount lenses left so maybe I'll try them, though I still prefer native lenses when possible.

Your ZEs should work without issue. My first copy of the Otus 55 was in EF, and that's the adapter I used.
