I won't cheat and look it up and name it other than it is indeed a "boat" named Cadillac! This car would NOT fit into the marked parking spaces in the town near me!
These are "tanks"! Built to last and watch out if your modern car gets hit by one!
Great catch "MIch"!

When I see things like this car, I need to not keep on going. Need to stop, go over, take a few more shots of it, explore it. It was built when cars were cars
You could pop the hood and with its big old simple motor, you could still fit 2 bodies in there. 4 more bodies in the trunk (shades of my mafia days coming out), and 6 inside all sloshing around on some fine leather seats. Style.
Now, I need one. Should have went over and traded them straight up for my camera and lens...
My first job after school was the Engineering Dept at Cadillac HQ (Clark St). Guys like my boss designed and built this one. They were dinosaurs, but they had so much practical experience. We had pictures of this era cars on the walls, they knew all of the design goals, parts and effort that went into them. We would get into a current car from the pool to go to lunch and they'd look it over and get dark and sad.

I am awaiting my younger brother to send me a picture of his 68' Fleetwood that he bought from the Japanese Embassy here in DC. It was HUGE!! Had an actual drop down table in the rear to eat off of for 4 people! 472cu big block engine! You had to rent a taxi to get to the rear end! . The tail fins were enormous!!
