I thought the glow through the leaves and pattern were interesting and was happy to find a focal point within the pattern of the other plants. I dunno, it works for me, thoughts?

Always testing the limits of things, I can't help myself wanting to prove to myself that the Samyang 135mm F1.8 autofocus is much better than reviewers made it out to be, especially with the latest FW updates (and the A7RV for that matter, often written off as a landscape camera)... This supersonic BF turned around coming straight at me and the only problem was the photographer keeping it in the viewfinder, not the AF or CAF of either item.

That you are nailing eye focus of an IF butterfly at almost wide open f/stop is amazing buddy! #5 is sweet
I like the first image, might like it better without the in focus flowers or maybe if they weren't centered?
You are having fun with that lens I think it is a winner and a great value

Thanks Karl, I'd rank butterfly's up there with swallows (edit, silly spell check), maybe harder because they are so small and erratic in their flight path, they turn on a dime.
Also thanks for the comment on the greenery, yeah, it was a small patch, if I moved much more off center, I'd have lost the light and the other types of plants would invade the shot, and if I zoomed in to crop more, the tips would be out the top and the flower on the floor, etc, so I was kinda locked into the comp and moved the in-focus flower as much to the left of center as I could even though the OOF flower is still kinda centered. I guess some people still see that as centered, but to me it's not, oh well, heh.

Yeah, I like the first one Eric. But the last one and the one just before it our first class.. What a beautiful specimen you have captured.

Thanks for the kind words, Terry, having a good looking subject sure helps!

Great job with the in flights Eric ! I don't even attempt that, much too slow Beautiful shots overall !

Thanks for the kind words Gary! The challenge is what keeps me trying... and something about when you do nail it is very satisfying, heh.
You do need almost mid-day levels of light to track the small stuff moving that fast though... not exactly the golden hour, well, then again, you could say it is the intense golden hour?
