Is this lens readily available? There seem to be supply problems with Sony in the UK, not sure whether they are related to this lens or Sony products more generally.
Anyone know the reasoning for the non-standard threading on the 95mm filter? I bought an expensive Polar variable ND filter that is essentially useless now because it won't thread onto the lens. Does anyone know of a VND that will work with this lens?

I bought a Breakthrough 95mm UV for mine... it works fine.
I had no idea there were two different types of threads.

Edit: NEVERMIND...I don't think it has coarse threads.
I bought the Peter McKinnon VND. I didn't have a need to test it out for a while, but luckily I had 2 days left on Amazon to return it. Feel like I dodged a bullet there, but I guess just a good heads up for anyone planning on buying filters for this lens. Notably, the hood wouldn't attach, either, so not sure if the coarse thread version will remedy that, but I suspect not.

I don't think it takes the coarse....but I could be wrong. I think Polarpro makes a regular (fine) and coarse...whatever you have, you want the opposite one.
I've got a NISI UV filter on it I previously used on the 200-600. It's a low profile version that had the coarse threads. It went on perfectly and works fine with the hood. I've got a 95mm VND that I haven't tried but won't use the hood with it.

I doubt the other one will change the hood issue.
It takes the coarse. Pretty easy to see that if you look at the big thread pitch.
