These photos are from a recent visit to the Marine Nature Study Area in Oceanside, NY. I chose to go B&W to simplify the compositions which places more emphasis on the subjects.

I like these. For some reason #2 sticks the best with me, maybe a little more light in the eye??

Thank you Karl,

I'm fond of the second as well. It's an unusual angle yet we get to see the curvature of the eye. I can see lighting the eye a touch.
