I'm in the market for an 85mm lens as well. I can live with a f/1.8. I've tried the Sony 85/1.8 - good value at this point, but I don't really love the rendering, nor the minimal focusing distance.
Sirui looks like a great value, but I worry about the long-term quality issues. I'm leaning towards a minty used Zeiss Batis 85/1.8 for about the same money.

What the heck, I decided to give the Sirus a spin. It is such a great price, if I don't like it, I can always return it. Less hassle than trying to find a minty Batis 85 here in France.

If France is like Canada, lots of people share the same opinion on the 85 Batis - it's a great lens, so used prices are very sticky and haven't come down much. Tough to find one locally for less than $1000 CDN.
Looking forward to seeing some pics from the Sirui!

You can get a good copy here on FS forums like Le Bon Coin for around 500-600 euros, some people asking a lot more, but that is not realistic.
I've been here for 9 months now. Camera and lenses prices are crazy in Europe, at least the modern stuff. Leica is about the same, sometimes more affordable for something like a M6

I'm waiting for my copy as well. It will arrive some day next week. Meanwhile I'm preparing a little, finding a suitable small hood and filter.
I noticed there is a firmware update available at Sirui. What fw is it shipped with? Version 1.04 is here. There is unfortunately no information on what's fixed with the update.
Maybe better to stay away for now?

Vad får man betala för den i Sverige, Jonas? Den kostar 550 euros här i Frankrike.

I also noted that its 67mm filter which for me is great as my 16-25 and 24-50 I think are the same. I will get another CPL filter for my kit now. I usually buy Breakthrough filters
Also I have used the 16-25 and 24-50 in the past and for zooms they are damn good so I feel now I have a nice kit with these 3 lenses with my A7RV. I will still rent the 70-200 for paid gigs But simplify my kit was one goal I had.
Thank you.
I checked the Sirui shop site. Shipping and local taxes (Swedish VAT) makes Amazon the best seller in this case. I'm not in any hurry so i didn't pay extra for the shipping making my lens en route until tomorrow or Monday next week. We'll see.
I'm interested in the lens as it ticks all the boxes for a fast 85 including priority for rendering over "sharpness"!

I was trying to figure out where they are shipping from so for US folks Amazon and BH maybe the best solution. But read their site as the have some reviews and specs which is some more data on them

Mine arrived just a short while ago. Very well packed up and the lens was even vacuumed sealed.
Very first impressions:
- It has some type of mark or dust on one of the inside elements. I guess you can't expect perfection and it probably won't show up in any photos, but rather one of those things that may affect 2nd hand value.
- Autofocus is silent and fast enough, but certainly not blazing fast.
- It seems noticeably soft wide open at f/1.4. Hence, that is just a first impression and perhaps not a fair one as all I did was to shoot a couple of things around the kitchen table at f/1.4 and compare it to my Sony 40/2.5 that I had mounted, and all I did was to review the images in the EVF and LCD.
Much too early to say something else, but at least it is a start.

Nice! Guy I know you also are a fan of aftermarket hoods, this is a great case for a screw in hood to cut down on the size significantly (though the Sirui hood is nice). I tried a straight metal screw in hood and it looked a little weird, but then a different vented hood looks great to my eye - $14 on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09KBB8CRM?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_3&th=1
