I found a second Great Horned Owl's nest on Long Island. I was there a week ago when mom was incubating the eggs and when I visited yesterday there were two owlets that were a few day old. The nest is very hard to get a clean shot of due to it's location in the forest with tree branches and red seed pods obstructing the view. I was shooting at 700mm (500mm x 1.4) on my Fuji X-H2s (APS-C) to remove as much of the distracting branches as possible and then cropped in a bit more in post and cleaned the images a bit. The photos include both owlets with one having lighter feathers than the other.
Comments and suggestions welcome,
Morris

These are really sweet Morris, you did a great job in a tight spot. That combo got you some nice sharp images. I love the GHO chicks, cute as a whistle. The nesting pair near here don’t have any little ones, may be am failed nest.
These must have snuck by me over the weekend Morris, what a nice find! You got some great looks of these little guys. I hope you get to follow their progress now that you have located them. YGMV

Thank you Dave,
I'm aware of a number of GHO nests near me yet this one is attractive and easy to find.

Your combo worked out well for these images. Very cool to see these fuzzy little ones, great shots and fine presentation Morris
Karl
Thank you Karl,
The Fuji X-H2s + the Fuji 500mm is a wonderful combination with and without the 1.4x TC. It's even good with the 2X TC except very little light.

Thank you Eric,
Owls are well camouflaged, even on FM :-}
These are great, Morris! You did a wonderful job of capturing their little personalities. It would be hard to pick a favorite, probably #3, but #2 really shows the amazing size of their beak at such an early stage.
You also did a fine job of obscuring those branches.
Well done!
