p.1 #1 · Dropped my Godox AD200 on the floor :(

I dropped my Godox AD200 Pro on the floor today and now it won't turn on. It seems to broke the frame around the screen.
Is it just gone or can I try something to try to fix it?

It won't turn on at all? Or it just won't fire? If it won't turn on, then I'm guessing the main board or something vital has been damaged and it's not worth trying to fix it. If it just won't fire, then I'd just check with a different flash head that wasn't dropped (ie if you dropped a bare bulb, use the fresnel).

I've dropped AD200s before and damaged one to the point where it wouldn't turn on, and upon opening it up, you kind of see why they don't take falls well. The electronics are packaged pretty tightly in the housing, so a fall can do a lot of damage. One warning - be very careful about discharging the light before handling anything internal, as the capacitors can give you a nasty and painful shock (ask me how I know haha)

Ah ok, yeah in that case, it's most likely toast. From what I recall, inside the AD200 pro, you have the main board, capacitors and not much else. As far as I know Godox doesn't sell replacement parts for the internals, but it might be worthwhile just keeping it on hand should you need to cannibalize for spare parts later on down the line.

Adorama sells a silicone bumper for the control panel of AD200's and II, that will likely also fit the AD200 Pro II. I've been considering getting some, but haven't yet. After reading this, these bumpers have moved considerably higher on my want list, but I would prefer a full length silicone sleeve with holes where needed. I just haven't seen this offered yet.

I keep hoping that Godox, or an after market supplier, would make a case with foam padding designed to hold 3 AD200 Pro II flashes with space for the reflectors and spare batteries, or designed to take the AD200 bag foam insert that comes in the Godox case that's supplied with each AD200 Pro II, plus padded space for the other accessories like the reflectors and filters. I have several pro video camera cases that I've tried, but I haven't been happy with how they fit in them or I would use one of them and buy a replacement for the pro video camera. The case that I want doesn't need to be airline luggage safe, just something well made enough to keep everything together and safe from damage while going to a remote shoot and back multiple times in the car or van. The supplied little cases work, but I end up with too many small cases that are easy to loose in these trips.

Godox service / support is bad and almost non existent, but have you looked into cheetahstand? They say they service their products. Maybe this service?

https://cheetahstand.com/products/repair-ad200-or-ad200pro-e1-or-e3-error

Here is their main page for repairs:

Good luck, and sorry for your loss!
