p.1 #1 · Northern California - Autumn, Winter, Spring
Not being shooting terribly much lately, due to spending more time enjoying the outdoors socially which excludes sunrises and sunsets from my outdoor time windows. Here's a few that I have captured on dedicated photo day trips. Unfortunately I only had nice light once. Such is life.
Notes on 1: This was a new area for me and I love it. Can't wait to explore more here in 2025
Notes on 2: A fire ripped through this area several years ago decimating the pine forests, leaving swathes of dead pines allayed against a snowy backdrop
Notes on 3. The oft photographed Calla Lilly Valley. I'd wanted to visit and shoot here for years and finally decided to make the 3 hour drive a couple of weeks ago. As beautiful as they are, Calla Lilly are not native to the USA and are considered a weed that choke out native wildflowers and other flora. Nevertheless it is a popular place and it was reasonably crowded whilst I was there. I only cloned out two people in the distance.

Very nice series! Number 3 is a beautifully dramatic shot, but number one is so well captured and so nicely processed without looking overdone. Excellent!
