Got an email from Sony. Which isn’t unusual. But the was a little tidbit that might interest the bird photographers on the forum

I know 😄

The least they could have done is give away a new 100-400mm f4.5

I might have had to take up bird photography if that was the case 😉

Nice pic btw!

It works some of the time. But I went back and forth between it and the 300/2x and the 300/2x was a noticeable AF improvement.
However, I have now realized the lens was on FW 1.0 so will test some more this weekend on lens FW 4.0.

While waiting for some KF actions, I noticed a coot chick and its parents. I wouldn't bother with the adults but this coot chick, although it would not win a beauty contest, it is uniquely special 😜, in a way and I couldn't resist...

Interesting. Don’t think I’ve seen a baby coot before

Thanks for sharing Joshua!

Dave, really enjoying the horse shots.

Thanks.

This was the first time, out of maybe 40 times seeing the wild horses, that they were doing something other than eating.
The lighter brown stallion was maybe trying to take over, but the lead stallion (a white horse) wasn't having it.
A friend and I watched (and kind of became part of) this attempt.
As the white stallion would drive him off, he would run 75 yards straight at us.
At one point, I was photographing him as he ran right at me. I stood still, photographing him as he ran by about 15 feet away,
My friend asked what I was doing, I said, I'm photographing my murderer.
