This is a truly wonderful street portrait in the best and truest sense. And anyone doing this kind of work with a tlr and tmax must be revered. Thank you so much for sharing this with all of us.
Great shot. Photography aside, I am really loving her hair and makeup. It's like a modern take on a 90's look (I'm thinking T-Boz from TLC). I'd have stopped to take her photo as well.

Derek and Daniel,
You are both far too kind. She was quite the character. She truly exuded "I don't care" when I asked her if I could take her portrait. It was neither approval nor denial/nuissance, just a true lack of any acknowledgement I was there. It worked out well in her pose, demeanor and look at the camera. Funny enough, I kicked myself for having B&W film in Mimi, because while the B&W is great, her makeup in full color was that much more striking.
Sweet shot! Love her look and comfortable pose.
The thing about always having color film in your camera, is if you are scanning it, one click turns it into a B&W image.
While I prefer color, the main reason I shoot B&W is I can develop it very easily, cheaply and immediately at home! Color I have my lab do.

Desmolicious,
Thank you! Funny enough I am partial to B&W (color gives me a bit of a compositional headache), but I am happy to admit when a shot would benefit from color film =D. I've been toying with building my own develop/scan setup, but NYC apartment space is a bit limited, and truth be told I'm not sure i have the time/patience. I'm sure I will cave at some point, but I'm holding strong for now
