p.1 #1 · Canon R5 MKII Battery Charger

Hi Everyone,

Does anybody know of a battery charger that can charge a Canon R5 battery via USB C. I need something so I can charge off
a Power bank. And not through the camera.

Thanks,
Alan

There are a whole bunch of LP-E6 USB chargers on Amazon for example. Most of them have 5V/2A inputs so will work from generic USB power banks with the appropriate cable. They don't need to support PD or QC. One issue you may encounter is that some power banks shut off at higher currents than others and not complete the charge to 100%.

While I bought it for my original R5 Mark I the Llano charger appears to work fine on my new LP E6P batteries. It’s a dual charger that requires a separate USB-C wall supply. When charging it has a % indicator for each battery and also detects if the wall supply is PD compatible or not.

I use it with a dual port 65W ultra slim GaN wall charger that has both a USC-C and USB-A socket.
Also own the version they make for the Sony NP-FZ100 batteries.

I have i/o magic 20000 mAh power bank and it can charge K&F concept LP-E6NH batteries. These batteries can be charged directly with Type C charging cable. I use these batteries as back up and they are fully charged right now so I am not too sure how much time it would require to charge but I just did a quick test and the battery is charging off the power bank. Not sure if this would be an appropriate option for your needs.

I also have a llana model LJN-CS002 that charges my LP-ENH and LP-ENP batteries. It needs a 9v, 2.0A input, I plug it into an Innergie brick that supplies various output up to 20v @ 2.25 amp. 45w total output. Other than the Canon charger this is the fastest USB charger I've used.

Forgot to mention I also use the Llano with a UGREEN Power Bank 25,000mAh 145W Laptop Portable Charger, Nexode 3-Port USB C PD Battery Pack.
