I have a Z50 with the 2 lens kit and have been reasonably satisfied with it. The only gripe I've ever had was with auto focus being inaccurate and slow for fast moving subjects. I use my cell phone for video and have never used the video features so the improved video of the Z50 ii is not an issue. For anyone who has upgraded from the Z50 to the Z50 ii, is the auto focus improvement worth the upgrade?
Thanks everybody for you input. At this point in time I'm going to stay with my Z50 as I've found ways to work around its' focus limitations. I still have my D850 which works well for BIFs and just about anything else other than video. I still view the Nikon Z series as a work in progress and may upgrade in the future.
I went to the original Z6/Z7 launch and I was not happy with where Nikon was going. They kept touting the Z mount that it has the largest flange diameter which is an advantage over other mirrorless mounts. Nikon Canada laid off some of their staff soon after.
It was only until Z9 that they made a huge comeback and gave everyone confidence of Nikon's future.
Nikon Z series is absolutely not a work in progress.
You'll love the faster overall operations. Absolutely worth it. Plus you're getting 10-bit NLOG video as well on top of all the AF and speed improvements. And if im not mistaken, the Z50 II has a newer battery as well
