Rex, thanks for sharing these! 1977? That's incredible! I see two logs in your image, and I don't recall seeing the second one before. It's amazing how long it must have survived. I was so focused on getting to the falls that I didn't take the time to walk around and appreciate the area. I had a long day ahead of me.
Pretty amazing that 20 years after I first visited Sol Duc, that damn log is still in the same distracting place Anyone know how long it has been there?

Nice photo, was there also in 2016, (July 17) and arrived in the afternoon so didn’t have the nice light as you had. Still almost nobody around.
Thanks, wow in afternoon and there was no one! From what I had read on internet is that was one of the busy trails. The walk through the forest was a lot of fun too.

Image is beautiful and very skillfully processed.
A few posts above someone posted image taken on film in 1971 with a log. I doubt if it is the same log

Such nice long exposure! Do you remember how long you exposed for?
Thanks @nikwitzi
I tried to add EIFX but since it's a featured thread I couldn't change anything. Anyway, this image was shot at F11 and it was a 1 sec exposure. Hope that helps.
