p.1 #1 · Recommendation for Cold Shoe Mounted Light Meter
I have a Contax iiia that I would like to use with a cold shoe light meter. I know there are several options and have read reviews on many such as the Voightlander and Doomo offerings, among others. I would appreciate recommendations on meters you have used and like. It would be helpful to know your pros and cons, and the camera(s) on which you have used them.

The Voigtlander VCII is copied by many other makers but still the best choice. Easy to read and accurate plus it has either a black or chrome finish. They are often available on the second hand market, so check the B&S.
I have used the Reveni cube meter for several years. The latest MK2 has a rechargeable battery and a bright OLED screen that's easily readable in any light.
One of the meters you may want to consider is a small hand held like the Gossen Digisix II. On a recent trip to Paris, I used a Kodak Retina IIa and a Reveni meter. The Reveni was good in most lighting situations but there were times where incident metering was preferable to reflective.
Therev are also the Doomo and the TT Artisan version of the Voigtlander. With the renewed interest in film photography and many of the older cameras having either no meter or an unreliable one, a number of hot she meters have come on to the market. Check reviews and look through the threads here.
