These are the last frames of 2024, taken just before the sunset. Finally some light to give the A1 II a good workout and it performed flawlessly. there were two juvenile harriers in the field, hunting for rodents that appear to be abundant after the recent rains. one bird is slightly older than the other one, the one with just slightly lighter pupil starting to morph into adult plumage
hope you like these frames, and happy 2025!
all shot with A1 II and 600 GM + 1.4X or 2X TC. handheld. processed with ACR as C1P does not support A1 II yet

Stunning frames Arash... Perfect light too...TFS...
Honestly though, I doubt you would have any issues getting these same frames with your original A1
Thanks Kambiz,
yes it's not so much about the original A1 having any issues, it's more like how many more keepers the new one will bring to the table...TBD but there are certainly some improvements here.
These are beautiful Arash, wonderful light, sharp, great angles. Amazing at 1200 mm hand held. My favorite hawk, I love the way they glide above the grass. Do you think there would have been any difference in these images is shot with the A1 rather than the A1 II.

Thanks Dave, there were certain shots where I used pre-capture and I've got to say those would have been quite difficult to nail with the A1. I will post more photos later and share my findings on my YouTube channel
Nice. Love the shot with prey. Centuries ago in the UK they (Hen Harrier, of which Northern Harrier were a sub-species until being reclassified some years back) were colloquially known as the vole hawk. My favourite bird along with merlin with whom they have something of a symbiotic relationship and I look forward to the spring/summer as I'm fortunate enough to work (voluntarily) in the conservation of both species.
